Finland has missed the train in some vital areas of the world wide e-mobility mission.
The same goes for EU and several E- Congresses held over the last 4-5- years.

Only last(!) year EU launched a program asking how to promote promote use of e-bikes and
trikes for local businesses. Finland has none.
In the meantime the e-bike family in Europe has grown to +3million units. This means
an energy shift from gasoline to electricity multiple times more than all European hybride and
electric cars represent together. It is not only the amount of e-cars that count, it is the amounts
to peoples choise how to move locally. One man on vote. Three miilion + e-bikes has substance!
When it comes to Finland we have to be ashamed. Several generations of youngsters could have
bought e-bikes instead of combustion engine mopeds. Travelling distance and speed are not that
far apart, but insurence and fuel costs are. It remains to be seen what kind of promotional
programs will be published before the next years general election.
Our driving conditions during 6-8 months are second to none.

" TO 10th ITS EUROPEAN CONGRESS Helsinki June 16-19 2014
We urge the Congress to create a program where electric and REX cars have a specified
green color licence plates, same color on charging areas and traffic signs in and for areas
limited to be used for such vehicles only. The color code green is not only needed for informative
reasons to avoid parking conflicts by mistake. The selected GREEN color can be the general
worldwide Brand for e-mobility in general. Especially EU with so many languages in its traffic
environments is an obvious beneficiary of such a program."
